1987
In 1987, CPM (then known as Fletcher Bickerton (Northern) Ltd) invested a substantial £1m+ into building a specialist 10,000 sq ft facility in Trafford Park, which remains the home of CPM today. It began providing AC and DC Motor, gearbox and pump repairs and mechanical and machining services to local businesses on a 24 hour basis, to which it remains today.
1993
In 1993, Fletcher Bickerton (Northern) was bought from the group by the then MD David Griffin who sought to expand the company into new markets and areas of expertise. Following rapid expansion, FBNL formed Northern Drives and Controls Limited to service the emerging electronic and automation repair market. NDC has since undergone vast expansion into two dedicated service centres serving the North and South of the country in addition to Europe and North America.
1999
In 1999 FBNL changed its name to CPM (Complete Plant Maintenance) Engineering Ltd. This better reflected the main activities of the company who now offered a number of on-site services including Condition Based Monitoring, Stores management and Asset management programmes, alongside traditional repair services.
2021
Today, the company’s ethos of ‘Repair, Replace, Manage and Maintain‘ not only reflects the spectrum of services that we have to offer, but also of how we view each repair.
